The Challenge:
An agricultural bank with 163 branch offices, Bisel Bank was in need of upgrading its entire technological platform in 1999. It looked to Unisys to integrate its core banking platform with Bisel's in-house developed legacy systems. During this upgrade process, Bisel Bank also decided to automate its collections process. With the need to integrate with Unisys and custom legacy systems and requiring the capacity to accommodate large volumes of accounts, the collections software needed to be chosen carefully.

The Solution:
Working with Unisys as its integration partner, Bisel chose Perseus by LexorLogic™ to automate its collections operation. Perseus was chosen for the following key reasons:

	Its robust engine that was capable of handling large volumes of accounts
	Its Windows-based, client/server, and database independent architecture, which could integrate easily with the in-house legacy systems and the new Unisys platform

Perseus by LexorLogic™ was implemented in a phased-in approach. In the first phase, it was integrated into the back-end accounting systems of Bisel Bank and the new Unisys banking platform. In the second phase, the software was integrated into additional Bisel back-end systems.

Bisel chose to have the collection process proceed at day-one of delinquency and continue until the post-charge-off period, when accounts are transferred to the bank's legal resources. 80-plus collectors were trained on Perseus .
